STENDEBACK FAMILY FUNERAL HOME: Wanda E Pharr

Stendeback Family Funeral Home issued the following announcement on.

Wanda E.Pharr 83 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Saturday morning February 9, 2019 at Premier Healthcare of New Harmony. She was born February 27, 1935 in Reed, KY, the daughter of Robert and Lydia (Lacer) Carter. She married Elmer Lee Pharr on December 24, 1949 and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2009.

Wanda had worked at Excelon Plastic in the 60's. Along with her husband they owned and operated the Gerbers Supermarket and the Chick-A-Deli Market. She was a longtime member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Evansville and attended Harvestime Temple in Mt. Vernon.

Wanda was one of 13 children. She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Barb) Pharr, Mark (Tammy) Pharr, Keith Pharr, and Jeff (Karen) Pharr; grandchildren, David (Savannah) Pharr, Amanda (Darrell) Willett, Amy (Bradley) Degraffenreid, Jessica (Rian) Nichols, Erin (Drew) Meyers, Mark Allen Pharr, Dustin (Amanda) Pharr, Dana (Sid) Dill, Ryan Pharr, and Taylor Pharr; ten great-grandchildren, brother, Billy (Betty) Carter and sister, Shannon Stauber.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday February 13, 2019 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Also, a special thanks to Debbie Morgan and the staff at Premier Healthcare of New Harmony, and to her daughter-in-law Tammy, who constantly cared for her. She was the daughter Wanda always wanted.
