The regular meeting of the Jasper School Board of Education was called to order by Board President Blaine Norton and Derek Demaret taking the minutes, on January 17, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. with following board members present:
Present at the hearing: Blaine Norton, Chris Otey(arrived 6:15), Eric Gruen, Rennie Cates, Lachelle Thompson, Chris Barbre & Derek Demaret
Absent at the hearing:
The consent agenda, which includes minutes of previous regular board meeting, executive session, bills and payrolls were then approved on a motion by Rennie Cates and seconded by Chris Barbre. The votes were as follows:
Blaine Norton – yes Chris Otey –absent Eric Gruen – yes Rennie Cates – yes Lachelle Thompson – yes Chris Barbre – yes Derek Demaret – yes
A motion was made by Rennie Cates and seconded by Chris Otey to approve the FY19 faculty- staff seniority lists as presented. The votes were as follows:
Blaine Norton – yes Chris Otey –yes Eric Gruen – yes Rennie Cates – yes Lachelle Thompson – yes Chris Barbre – yes Derek Demaret – yes
A motion was made by Eric Gruen and seconded by Rennie Cates to approve the superintendent to apply for the Federal Impact Aid Grant FY 2019. The votes were as follows:
Blaine Norton – yes Chris Otey –yes Eric Gruen – yes Rennie Cates – yes Lachelle Thompson – yes Chris Barbre – yes Derek Demaret – yes
A motion was made by Eric Gruen and seconded by Lachelle Thompson to adopt the new Federal Internal Revenue Service’s mileage rate of 58¢ per mile for the calendar year 2019. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made Chris Otey and seconded by Rennie Cates to eliminate executive session minutes from June 2016. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Eric Gruen and seconded by Chris Barbre to adopt resolution on confidentiality of prior closed session audio tapes and written minutes which is to have the executive session minutes to remain closed from July through December 2018. The votes were follows:

A final motion was made by Eric Gruen and seconded by Chris Barbre to adjourn at 8:30 p.m. The votes were as follows:
