Allendale Community Consolidated School District 17 Board met Jan. 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. President Gary Buchanan called the meeting to order at 6:06 PM.

The following members were present:

Gary Buchanan

Beth Etzkorn

Richard Gochenour

Miles Marcotte

Tia Morgan

Amanda Thombleson

Also present was Superintendent Bob Bowser, District Secretary Sarah Courter, and Mt. Carmel Register Newspaper Reporter, Jacob. Absent was Mike Wilson.

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA

Richard Gochenour made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, January 16, 2019; Minutes of the Closed Session Meeting held Wednesday, January 16, 2019; Financial Reports – Treasurer’s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by beth Etzkorn, President Gary Buchanan put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Richard Gochenour

Miles Marcotte

Tia Morgan

Amanda Thombleson

No: None

Absent was Mike Wilson.

COMMUNICATIONS

CITIZEN - None

STAFF – None

ADMINISTRATION – Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial

Update - 1% Sales Tax payment was $6,6,723.97 (for October), Meals averaged 52 for breakfast and 92 for lunch in the month of December, 3-Fund Total Expenditures for December was $115,868; Facility Update - Ed Kerkhover, School Architect will have revised HVAC numbers soon; State required lead testing was done in December on the buildings water fountains and sinks and the replacement of several fixtures was completed by mid-January to help solve lead issues and will get a re-screening completed soon; Glass Doctor was here at the school today finishing up a few minor things on the new exterior doors; the first section of the new floor tile was laid during Christmas Break (band room hall to double doors on junior high hall), the second section (library hall) wil be completed during Spring Break, and last section of tile will be done at Summer Break; Sports - Basketball WEAA Tourney was January 7, 8, & 10; Basketball Regional will be held at Allendale School on January 22, 23, & 28; Volleyball has started with 14 players; Other - discussion of getting quotes on a new copy machine for the art room, more information will be presented at the February Board Meeting; discussion of new law on school attendance is in the works, more information to come when available.

Tia Morgan made the motion to approve the Superintendent evaluation as presented. Upon said motion being seconded by Amanda Thombleson, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

APPROVAL OF CERTIFIED SENIORITY LIST FOR 2018-2019

Richard Gochenour moved to approve the Certified Seniority List for 2019-2019 as presented. (copy follows) Upon said motion being seconded by Beth Etzkorn, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.

RESOLUTION - TAX LEVY ABATEMENT

Richard Gochenour made the motion to approve the resolution for the tax levy abatement. Upon said motion being seconded by Amanda Thombleson, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Beth Etzkorn

Richard Gochenour

Miles Marcotte

Tia Morgan

Amanda Thombleson

RESOLUTION - LAWRENCE COUNTY BOARD

Richard Gochenour made the motion to approve the resolution for the tax levy abatement. Upon said motion being seconded by Beth Etkorn, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Beth Etzkorn moved to adjourn to Closed Session at 6:43 PM for Reason #1 - Appointments, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, the President put the question, and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Beth Etzkorn moved to reconvene from Closed Session at 7:27 PM. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, the President put the question, and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Tia Morgan moved to accept the resignation of Kila Garrett as Cheer Coach at the conclusion of the 18-19 Season. Upon said motion being seconded by Amanda Thombleson, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.

Richard Gochenour made the motion to adjourn the Wednesday, January 16, 2019, Allendale Community Consolidated School District #17 Board of Education meeting at 7:28 PM. Upon being seconded by Tia Morgan, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.
