2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Hamilton County?

There were 12 offenders released on parole during 2018 that live in Hamilton County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SE Illinois News.

The data shows that 10 men and two women were released in Hamilton County. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2015, and the oldest was a 55-year-old man convicted of a crime against a person in 2012.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Aaron K. Murphy. He was convicted of a crime against one or more children in 2007 when he was 38 years old. He is now 50.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in 2018 in each Hamilton County municipality.
