Q1 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Wabash County?

There were three offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Wabash County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SE Illinois News.

The data shows that two men and one woman were released in Wabash County. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 32-year-old woman sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 44-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Charles R. Leek. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017 when he was 33 years old. He is now 35.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Wabash County municipality.
