The data shows that four men were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for drug crimes, one is a veteran, and the median age is 50. The youngest parolee was a 39-year-old man sentenced in 2016, and the oldest was a 55-year-old man sentenced in 2015.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Greg A. Barnard. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2013 when he was 48 years old. He is now 54.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
