Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees in Saline County convicted of crimes against persons

There were two offenders convicted of crimes against persons released on parole in Saline County during the first quarter of 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the SE Illinois News.

The data shows that both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against persons was 35. The youngest parolee was a 30-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 40-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Nickolas A. Hays. He was convicted in 2017 when he was 28 years old. He is now 30.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of crimes against persons were paroled during the first quarter of 2019 in each Illinois county.
