Harrisburg Public Library District Board of Trustees met Oct. 16.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Harrisburg Public Library District was called to order by President Joe Ewing at 5:04 pm. In attendance were Trustees, Tammi Jackson, Sally Wofford, Kelly Phelps and Director Krystal Gulley.
Consent Agenda: A motion was made to accept last month’s minutes/consent agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote.
President:
President, Joe Ewing started the meeting and skipped the President’s report which was addressed later in the discussions regarding the roof.
Committee Reports
Christmas House Tour- Janet Jones had previously asked that the Christmas House Tour materials be distributed at the meeting but they where not ready at the time of the meeting.
Finance Committee - There was no new business
Building Committee - The roof work was still in the process of being completed. President Ewing stated that there was no solid decking to attach the roof to so the roofer was going to have to lay 2 x 4’s in a North and South direction to tie into and place the roof. There will be 3⁄4 decking and two vents. The library will be billed for any additional work.
Personal Committee There was no new business.
Policy Committee There was no new business.
Director’s Report – the Tax levy was discussed and a Motion was made to pass Ordinance 19/20-2. It passed unanimously after a roll call vote.
The PLA Conference was discussed which takes place this year in Nashville, TN. A motion was made for Director Gulley and Emily to attend this conference and it passed unanimously after a roll call vote. The house to the south of the library was offered to the library to purchase for $12,000.00. This was discussed by the board and the library is not interested in purchasing the home.
A motion was made by Trustee Wolford to adjourn at 5:42.
