City of Harrisburg City Council met Jan. 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The Harrisburg City Council met on January 07, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Room of City Hall, Harrisburg IL for a Special Meeting.

Mayor John McPeek called the meeting to order. Mayor John McPeek presided over the meeting with Commissioners Raymond Gunning, Roger Angelly, Rupert Johnson and Ron Morse answer roll call.

Commissioner Raymond Gunning led the group in prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Commissioner Ron Morse made the motion to go into Executive Session for FOP mediation. Seconded by Commissioner Rupert Johnson. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Adjourn: 10:03 a.m. Reconvene: 2:41 p.m.

Mayor John McPeek made the motion to return to open session. Seconded by Commissioner Roger Angelly. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Mayor John McPeek stated during Executive Session mediation for the FOP contract was discussed. Mayor John McPeek made the motion to direct Attorney Robert Wilson to make the necessary changes as agreed to during mediation to the FOP contract and to work with Mr. Rose to be able to sign the FOP contract at the January 16, 2020 Council meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Raymond Gunning. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Commissioner Raymond Gunning made the motion to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Roger Angelly. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Adjourn: 2:43 p.m.
