City of Harrisburg City Council met Jan. 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor John McPeek called the meeting to order. Mayor John McPeek presided over the meeting with Commissioners Raymond Gunning, Roger Angelly, and Rupert Johnson answering roll call. Commissioner Ron Morse was absent.

Pastor Jerry Wells from the Dorrisville Social Brethren Church led the group on prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Commissioner Raymond Gunning made the motion to approve the consent agenda.

Regular Meeting Minutes December 19, 2019

Check Register and Warrant Report December 2019

Brown and Roberts – Job 2019-188 – 2019-2020 Structure Inspections - $591.86 Bryant Construction – 2014 Water main Rehab Phase I - $161,964.26

Brown and Roberts – Job 2019-035 – 2014 Water main Phase I - $14,670.65

Seconded by Commissioner Roger Angelly. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Mayor John McPeek presented an ordinance for the sale of property located at 212 E. Ford Street. Commissioner Raymond Gunning made the motion to approve Ordinance 1803 for the Sale of Property at 212 E. Ford Street. Seconded by Commissioner Rupert Johnson. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Jim Brown from Brown and Roberts Inc. presented an ordinance regarding borrowing funds from the Water Pollution Control Loan Program. This loan is for the STP Optimization Project. The documents have been submitted to IEPA. This loan is in the amount of $1,800,000.00. Commissioner Roger Angelly made the motion to pass Ordinance 1804 authorizing the City of Harrisburg, Saline County, Illinois, to borrow funds from the Water Pollution Control Loan Program. Seconded by Commissioner Raymond Gunning. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Commissioner Raymond Gunning announced a special meeting will be held on January 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. He had no need to go into Executive Session.

Commissioner Raymond Gunning made the motion to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Rupert Johnson. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.
