Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Wayne County?

There were seven offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2019 that live in Wayne County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SE Illinois News.

The data shows that four men and three women were released in Wayne County. The median age of the parolees was 44. The youngest parolee was a 31-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 59-year-old man sentenced for a crime against one or more children in 2014.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was John Lence. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2006 when he was 20 years old. He is now 34.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2019 in each Wayne County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
