Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Edwards County?

There were five offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2019 that live in Edwards County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SE Illinois News.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Edwards County were men. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 36. The youngest parolee was a 27-year-old man sentenced for a crime against justice in 2017, and the oldest was a 52-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Kevin Wise. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 2016 when he was 48 years old. He is now 52.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2019 in each Edwards County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
