Harrisburg Public Library District Board of Trustees met Jan. 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Harrisburg Public Library District was called to order by President Joe Ewing at 5:31 pm. In attendance were Trustees, Tammi Jackson, Lynda Clemmons, Sally Wofford, Janet Jones, Gary Jones, Kelly Phelps, President Joe Ewing, and Director Krystal Gulley. The meeting was held at the Southeastern Illinois College Commons and a tour was provided prior to the meeting.

Consent Agenda: Lynda Clemmons made a motion to accept last month’s consent agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. The November board meeting minutes were approved.

President:

President, Joe Ewing started the meeting. A discussion was held about the SIC Commons and Gary Jones was thanked for arranging the tour. The new art show was discussed involving Brenda Fleming. The schedule for Brown Bags and Books was discussed.

Committee Reports

Christmas House Tour-The Christmas House Tour was discussed and will occur on the first Saturday in December 2020. There are currently commitments from seven different community members willing to participate. Nothing has been finalized.

Finance Committee – A vote was held to approve the 2019 Annual Receipts and Disbursements. It was approved unanimously. There was no other new information to report.

Building Committee

- The roof work was discussed. The roof work is completed and due to various complications the work was approximately $20,000.00 over the initial contemplated budget. New flooring was also discussed for the library but the discussion was tabled until the next meeting so the samples could be considered at the library rather than at the SIC commons.

- Personal Committee There was no new information to report.

- Policy Committee – A vote was held to update the personnel policy regarding holiday comp time. The vote passed unanimously.

Director’s Report

- There were no closed sessions in the past six months so there was no need for a closed session review.

- Signage was discussed for the restrooms.

- A discussion was held regarding internet provides Clearwave and Futiva.

- The Property Tax Exempt status was completed with the County assessor for the 2020 year.

- The annual receipts and disbursements have been filed and scheduled to be ran in the paper.

A motion was made by Trustee Wolford to adjourn at 6:31.
