During a special Harrisburg City Council meeting, business owners spoke out on both sides of reopening businesses, but no action was taken at the meeting.

According to WMIX 94, Jerry Hunt, a local business owner, said safety measures have impacted local businesses. Hunt spoke for Sunny and Lisa Winn, owners of a local nail salon that has taken necessary safety precautions.

But Christi Bailey, a daycare owner, said the community shouldn't reopen businesses. Bailey acknowledged there are't many cases in the city, but said it's unknown if someone with the virus will infect many people in the community.

As of May 25, Illinois reported 110,304 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, including 4,856 deaths. Saline County has seven confirmed cases of COVID-19.

State Sen. Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) and state Rep. Patrick Windhorst (R-Metropolis) were at the meeting, speaking out against Gov. J.B. Pritzker's "Reopen Illinois" plan that divides the state into just four regions, according to WMIX 94.
