The data shows that eight men and two women were released in Mount Carmel zip code. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 43-year-old man convicted of a crime against a person in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jason Gaddis. He was convicted of homicide in 1996, when he was 21 years old. He is now 45.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
