Q4 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Gallatin County?

There were five offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2019 that live in Gallatin County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SE Illinois News.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Gallatin County were men. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2018, and the oldest was a 48-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Roger A. Combs. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2014 when he was 28 years old. He is now 34.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter of 2019 in each Gallatin County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
