Norris City FPD responds to 15 fires in 2018

Norris City Fire Protection District responded to 19 calls in 2018 - 42.4 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Norris City included 15 fires - seven structure fires, one vehicle fire and seven other fires.

In all, the department saw $58,450 in fire loss - or about $3,897 per fire.

The department also received four false calls, including three malicious calls and one other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian non-fire death. Additionally, one fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.

The Norris City Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $54,871 in 2018.
