State Rep. Darren Bailey (R-Xenia) has long been pressing Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) to see the state’s situation for the crisis it has become, thanks to Pritzker's own actions.

“Right now, we’ve got two pandemics going on, a health pandemic and an economic pandemic, that I believe is now even overshadowing the first crisis,” Bailey told the SE Illinois News. “The governor doesn’t want to talk about any of that, and I believe it has to do with his belief that he has to completely destroy Illinois to get the kind of federal bailout he’s looking for as a cure-all."

Bailey insists he’s not surprised to see more desperate residents taking a stance against what he sees as Pritzker’s tyranny, adding that he stands in full support of McHenry County State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally recently vowing not to enforce the governor’s indoor dining ban because he views it as an abuse of power.

“I’ve been saying for a while now that we’ve got to call on our sheriffs and state’s attorneys to stand up for the constitution,” said Bailey, “All it takes is a few standing up to embolden everyone. We all know that the numbers being given to us by the governor in support of his actions don’t tell the whole story.”

Bailey states that Pritzker now threatening to strip businesses that violate his orders of state licenses speaks volumes about how he really feels.

“I think it shows how desperate he really is," said Bailey, "He needs Illinois to shut down and small businesses to fail so he can get his billions in funding from the federal government. This is a man that is a first-class spoiled brat that has had everything handed to him and he’s willing to do anything to get his way right now."

Bailey argues that none of it is in the best interest of the state as a whole.

“Our small businesses can’t survive with the policies the governor’s putting in place with these illegal executive orders,” said Bailey, “He’s got everyone scared to death with his illegal actions, but people are starting to stand up to him as their hopes and dreams face destruction.”
