State Sen. Dale Fowler spoke to his constituents on a YouTube video to tell them about his project to send senior citizens in the 59th district a warm Valentine’s Day greeting.
Fowler said that the project was made successful through the efforts of public schools, church groups and several individual donations. He said that through their efforts they have received over 13,000 Valentine’s Day cards that will be sent to the 59th district’s senior citizens.
Fowler organized this project to let senior citizens know that despite the pandemic everyone in the 59th district loves and cares about them.
Fowler spoke of the communities’ involvement in this project and said, “The outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming. Forty-seven facilities were blessed. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel in support of this initiative.”
Fowler added that those who sent the most cards will win a certificate for a free pizza. He announced the winners and said that though the original number of awardees was three, he added more winners because so many people donated cards for the elderly.
