State Rep. Andy Niemerg (R-Teutopolis) warns of progressive changes within the school systems that are set to happen in 2025.
Niemerg who had earlier labeled the Illinois State Board of Education’s "Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Standards" as an “indoctrination,” said in a Facebook video, “it puts our children last, it puts learning last.
“Nearly two-thirds of our kids’ ages third grade through eighth grade fail basic mathematics and reading. So it's very frustrating to see this happening.”
He sees the cultural standards as "...really putting politics into the classroom which is very disheartening.”
Niemerg recommends the “need to really look at school choice, look at availability, not only for our children but for teachers that are within the school systems that can no longer find this palatable to teach this kind of politicization in the classroom.”
“So we really need to start looking at school choice on all fronts if not only for the children but for teachers as well,” he said.
