Harrisburg City Police Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 30
On Saturday August 28th, at about 4:30am, the Harrisburg Police responded to the 1200 block of Market Street for a report of a motor vehicle that struck a pedestrian. The initial investigation revealed that both the motor vehicle and the pedestrian were traveling in the eastbound lane of Market Street when the collision occurred. The pedestrian (an adult male) was immediately transported to a local hospital, where they died as a result of their injuries. This incident is still under active investigation by the Harrisburg Bureau of Police Traffic Safety Unit.
Anyone who witnessed this incident, or has information on it, is asked to call the Harrisburg Police at 717-558-6900. Tips or information can also be submitted via the CRIMEWATCH website.
