Q1 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Saline County?

There were 11 offenders living in Saline County released on parole during the first quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SE Illinois News.

The data shows 10 men and one woman were released in Saline County. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2019, and the oldest was a 50-year-old woman sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2018.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Joshua A. Lavanture. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2014 when he was 22 years old. He is now 29.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2021 in each Saline County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
