Q1 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Gallatin County?

There were three offenders living in Gallatin County released on parole during the first quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SE Illinois News.

The data shows one man and two women were released in Gallatin County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 33. The youngest parolee was a 32-year-old woman sentenced for a property crime in 2020, and the oldest was a 34-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Peni R. Allen. She was convicted of a property crime in 2020 when she was 30 years old. She is now 32.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2021 in each Gallatin County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
