Report: Edwards County School District spent $9,484 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Edwards County Community Unit School District 1 was up 19.9 percent from five years ago, according to the SE Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Edwards County school district spent $7,909 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,484 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 924 to 884 students over the same period.

Edwards County's spending in 2019-20 was 34.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
