Report: Jasper School District spent $10,517 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Jasper Community Consolidated School District 17 was up 5.8 percent from five years ago, according to the SE Illinois News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Wayne County school district spent $9,937 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,517 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 172 to 185 students over the same period.

Jasper's spending in 2019-20 was 27.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
