City of McLeansboro City Council met Dec. 1.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Mayor Chad May called the regular meeting of the McLeansboro City Council to order. Roll call: Don Cox, Tom Moulding, Tom Murk, Sharon Bowman, Jeff Johnson - present. Billy Glenn - was absent with regrets sent. 

Mr. Johnson made a MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF NOVEMBER 9, 2021 AND SPECIAL MEETING OF NOVEMBER 16,2021, second Mr. Cox. Roll call: Johnson, Cox, Moulding, Murk, Bowman. Ayes - 5. Nay - 0. Motion passed. 

Mrs. Brooke Morrison from Bellwether discussed several reports regarding budget, expenditures, and revenue. Mr. Murk made a MOTION TO APPROVE THE OCTOBER FINANCIAL REPORTS, NOVEMBER COLLECTOR'S & TREASURER'S REPORTS AND NOVEMBER BILLS & TRANSFERS, second Mr. Cox. Roll call: Murk, Cox, Maulding, Bowman, Johnson. Ayes - 5. Nay - 0. Motion passed. 

Mayor May swore in City Police Officer Corey Waide. 

Mr. Johnson made a MOTION TO ACCEPT THE RESIGNATION OF POLICE OFFICER STEPHEN MILLER, EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 11, 2021, second Mr. Murk. Roll Call: Johnson, Murk, Cox, Moulding, Bowman. Ayes - 5. Nay - 0. Motion passed. 

Mr. Murk made a MOTION TO PASS ORDINANCE 21-1067 MAKING THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY FOR THE CITY OF MCLEANSBORO, ILLINOIS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY 1, 2021 AND ENDING APRIL 30, 2022, second Mrs. Bowman. Roll Call: Murk, Bowman, Cox, Moulding, Johnson. Ayes - 5. Nay ~ 0. Motion passed. 

Ms. Arlynne Davis from Botsch & Associated presented the FY 2021 Audit. Mr. Cox made a MOTION TO ACCEPT THE FY 2021 AUDIT AS PRESENTED BY MS. DAVIS, second Mr. Johnson. Roll Call: Cox, Johnson, Maulding, Murk, Bowman. Ayes-5. Nay ~0. Motion passed. 

There were no public comments. 

The December 14th, 2021 Zoning Report was presented to the council. Mr. Murk made a motion to approve the December 14, 2021 Zoning Report as presented, second Mr. Cox. Roll Call: Murk, Cox, Maulding, Bowman, Johnson. Ayes -- 5. Nay - 0. Motion passed. Justin Barrow presented the Public Works department report for December, Chief Nathan Taylor presented the Police Department report for December, and Fire Chief Jim Morris presented the Fire Department report for December. 

Mr. Murk made a MOTION TO APPROVE THE PAY REQUEST OF SHAWNEE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES DATED NOVEMBER 30, 2021 FOR $8,109.61 AND TOE "SUMMARY OF FUNDS NEEDED FOR DECEMBER 2021" IN THE AMOUNT OF $8,109.61 FOR SUBMITTAL TO USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT, second Mr. Cox. Roll Call: Murk, Cox, Moulding, Bowman^ Johnson. Ayes - 5. Nay - 0. Motion passed. 

Mr. Johnson made a MOTION AUTHORIZING SHAWNEE PROFESSIONAL TO REQUEST APPROVAL FROM USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT TO USE THE REMAINHSTG CONTINGENCY FUNDS FROM THE WATER TOWER PROJECT FOR THE PURCHASE OF ELECTRONIC WATER METERS AND SOFTWARE, second Mr. Murk. Roll Call; Johnson, Murk, Cox, Moulding, Bowman. Ayes - 5. Nay - 0. Motion passed. 

Mr. Murk made a MOTION REQUESTING THAT SHAWNEE PROFESSIONAL PURSUE THE CONCEPT OF CONDUCTING A SEWER SYSTEM EVALUATION SURVEY (SSES) DURING THIS PHASE OF DESIGN AND PRESENT THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION FOR THE COUNCIL'S APPROVAL, second Mr. Cox. Roll Call: Murk, Cox, Mauldlng, Bowman, Johnson. Ayes - 5. Nay - 0. Motion passed. 

Mr. Cox made a MOTION TO ACCEPT THE 2022 CITY COUNCIL MEETING SCHEDULE AS PRESENTED, WHICH IS THE SECOND TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 6:00pm AT CITY HALL, second Ms. Bowman. Roll Call: Cox, Bowman, Moulding, Murk, Johnson. Ayes 5. Nay - 0. Motion passed. 

Mr. Cox made a MOTION TO PAY CHRISTMAS BONUSES FOR ALL FULL TIME CITY EMPLOYEES IN THE AMOUNT OF $250.00 NET, PART TIME EMPLOYEES $75.00 NET. FIREFIGHTERS WILL BE GET A BONUS OF $250 NET PROVIDED THAT THEY MADE MORE THAN $250.00 THIS YEAR. CURRENT FIREFIGHTERS THAT MADE LESS THAN $250, WILL RECEIVE A BONUS OF $75.00 NET, second Mr. Johnson. Roll Call: Cox, Johnson, Moulding, Murk, Bowman. Ayes - 4. Nay - 1. Motion passed. At approximately 7:20pm, having completed City business, Mr. Johnson made a
