Allendale School District #17 Board of Education met Dec. 15.

The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:05 PM.
The following members were present: Ryan Andrews
Gary Buchanan
Beth Etzkorn
Tia Morgan
Jon Micheal Deisher, Richard Gochenour, and Miles Marcotte were absent.
Also present was Superintendent Bob Bowser, Assistant Principal Cindy Brogan, Administrative Assistant Sarah Courter, and Home Town Register Reporter Herb Meeker.
APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA
Beth Etzkorn made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, November 17, 2021; Minutes of the Closed Session Meeting held Wednesday, November 17, 2021; Financial Reports – Treasurer’s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, President Gary Buchanan put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

ADMINISTRATION –
Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial Update - October Expenditures: Education $139,881, Building $6,041, Transportation $6,242 with a 3-fund total of $152,164; 1% Sales Tax $7,664.56 payable in January for September 2021, B/L Report - November gain $7,448.85 for the year, Average so far for the year: Breakfast 59 and Lunch 111; Sports - GBB won in OT on 8th Grade night, BBB is 5th seed in WEAA Conference at New Hope, Both GBB and BBB have upcoming Diocesan Tournament in Belleville, Illinois and Regionals, Volleyball will be starting in January, Cheerleaders will have a video competition for the WEAA; Facility Update - None; Transportation - None; Other - Judy Wissel with the WCHD says that covid case numbers are rising. Assistant Principal Cindy Brogan gave report from the school board conference that her and Bob attended in Chicago as well as updating on chromebook status for the school.

ADOPTION OF 2021 PAY 2022 TAX LEVY
Beth Etzkorn made the motion to approve the 2021 Pay 2022 Tax Levy as presented and file the Certificate of Tax Levy with the County Clerks of Wabash and Lawrence Counties. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

SUPERINTENDENT EVALUATION
Superintendent Evaluations were handed out to board members. They are to complete and return to the School Office to Sarah by the next meeting in January.
POLICY FOR EXTRACURRICULAR EJECTIONS
Ryan Andrews made the motion to approve the policy for extracurricular fan ejections as presented. Upon said motion being seconded by Beth Etzkorn, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

APPROVE EXTENSION OF CO-OP SPORTS
Beth Etzkorn made the motion to renew the agreement to co-op sports with St. Mary’s School. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried by three board members and failed by one board member.
GO TO CLOSED SESSION
Ryan Andrews moved to adjourn to Closed Session at 6:55 PM - Reason - List Number(s) #1 - Special education placement and other matters relating to individual students, and #2 - Collective negotiating matters and deliberations concerning salary schedules. Upon said motion being seconded by Beth Etzkorn, the President put the question, and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Beth Etzkorn made the motion to adjourn the Allendale Community Consolidated School District #17 Board of Education meeting at 7:54 PM. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.
