The New Hope Board of Education met on January 18, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. in the work room of the school.
President Nate Carter called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.

Jason Simpson made a motion to approve the December 21, 2021 regular meeting minutes with no corrections noted. Second by Jeremy Vaughan.

Superintendent Julie Harrelson presented the Treasurer’s Report and current financial information. Bank balances as of December 31, 2021

Fairfield National Bank Money Market: $596,863.66
Ryan Green made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Second by Jeremy Gray.

Mrs. Harrelson presented the Superintendent’s Report; Quarter 2 revenue and expenditure reports were reviewed. FOIA requests relayed to the board. COVID cases are increasing leading us to return to separate lunches and recess outside for now. Quarantine is down to 5 days instead of 10. Karoline Book and Kamden Vaughan are our spelling bee winners. Pre-bid meeting on February 1st, opening bids February 10th for the roof project and add on skylight for the office. Hutsonville sent a thank you for financial and legal support and encouragement. Jill Fulkerson has requested a meeting at The Landing on January 25th at 6:30 P.M. to discuss possible consolidation of services for Fairfield high school, Fairfield junior high, New Hope, Jasper, and Geff. She would like two board members and Mrs. Harrelson to attend. Nate Carter and Jeremy Vaughan to attend.

1. Derek Smothers made a motion to set graduation date for Friday, May 13th at 6:00 P.M. Second by Ryan Green.
