Village of Smithton Committee as a Whole met Feb. 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Village of Smithton

Mayor Smallwood called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm at Village Hall. Trustees Becherer, Rogers, Elbe, Henning, Mourey, and Hopkins were in attendance.

BUILDING REGULATIONS

Mayor Smallwood reported that the Board has been provided a draft ordinance from Attorney Durso for review and approval to be passed at the next regular Board meeting.

TOW FEES

Mayor Smallwood reported that Attorney Durso has provided a draft ordinance from Attorney Durso for review and approval to be passed at the next regular Board meeting.

WILLOW OAK PROPERTY

The Board determined that no action is needed other than Engineer Saeger sending the property owner a letter explaining that the Board has decided not to accept his terms.

BUDGET

An updated version of the budget was distributed. The Board members will review and continue to discuss.

BACKHOE

Trustee Rogers reported that he hasn’t heard any news from Supervisor Klein about the backhoe.

INSURANCE

Trustee Elbe presented proposals we received from another insurance carrier. Adding an employee from the Office, Police Department, and Street Department to the Finance and Insurance Committee to review insurance information was discussed.

LAPTOPS/TABLETS

The Board discussed options for the Board to have laptops/tablets for meetings.

PICKUP TRUCKS

Trustee Rogers will get with Supervisor Klein to discuss the purchase of a pickup truck based on the state bid.

Trustee Rogers made a motion which was seconded by Trustee Elbe to adjourn. All were in favor. Motion was granted. Meeting adjourned at 9:00 pm.
