Village of Smithton Committee as a Whole met Jan. 25.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Mayor Smallwood called the meeting to order at 7:05pm at Village Hall. Trustees Becherer, Rogers, Elbe, Henning, Mourey, Hopkins and Supervisor Klein were in attendance.

VACUUM TRUCK

Supervisor Klein reported to the board on purchasing a vacuum truck. The board received handouts showing the different options and safety the vacuum truck can provide for street department. Motion will be made at the next meeting not to exceed $130,000.

BUDGET

Mayor Smallwood reported that the board has been provided the first budget draft. This will be discussed further at next Committee As A Whole Meeting.

INSURANCE

Trustee Rogers reported he received a letter from Aflac regarding the cancer policy. After discussion the policy will stay in place.

TOW FEES

Trustee Elbe reported that they would like to enforce a fee for towed vehicles. The amounts would be $150 for a misdemeanor and $300 for a felony. The individual would pay Village of Smithton in order to receive their paperwork and then be able to pay the towing company to get their vehicle. An ordinance will be drafted up to make a motion.

BUILDING PERMIT FEES - 972

Mayor Smallwood reported that he spoke to Engineer Saeger and he made some suggestions on changes. Discussion was had and the ordinance will be voted on at the next meeting.

WATER TAP ON FEES - 976

Mayor Smallwood reported that no increase will be done on water tap on fees. This will come off the agenda.

BUILDING CODES

Mayor Smallwood reported that Engineer Saeger gave options on language for an ordinance. Discussion was had by the board and will be discussed further.

Trustee Rogers made a motion which was seconded by Trustee Elbe to adjourn. All were in favor. Motion was granted. Meeting adjourned at 8:25m.
