Allendale Community Consolidated School District 17 Board of Education met March 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session. The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:02 PM.

The following members were present: Gary Buchanan

Jon Michael Deisher

Beth Etzkorn

Richard Gochenour

Miles Marcotte

Tia Morgan

Present was Superintendent Bob Bowser, Asst. Principal Cindy Brogan, Administrative Asst. Sarah Courter, District Treasurer Debbie Hipsher, and Newspaper Reporter Herb Meeker.

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA

Richard Gochenour made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, February 16, 2022; Minutes of the Closed Session Meeting held Wednesday, February 16, 2022; Financial Reports – Treasurer’s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by Jon Michael Deisher, President Gary Buchanan put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

STAFF – None

ADMINISTRATION –

Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial Update - February Expenditures: Education $134,260, Building $7,192, Transportation $4,966, 3-Fund Total 146,418; 1% Sales Tax $9,509.17 (new high record) payable in April for December 2021, B/L Report - February gain $16,066.07 for the year, Average so far for the year: Breakfast 58 and Lunch 108; Sports - Volleyball finished on March 15, played well at Regionals; Track practice has started, first meet is on April 4th, Facility Update - Leak above the front foyer door in the ceiling, looking to repair the leak and fix the ceiling; based on a couple quotes, John Stone will be ordering the two new pumps and Tyler Weiss will install them this Summer; Transportation - None; Other - ROE Compliance Meeting yesterday; Homeless/McKinney Vento Compliance Meeting tomorrow; Book Fair goes through this week as well as PTC night on March 22; Parent-Teacher Conferences will be March 22 and March 23; March 25 through April 3 will be Spring Break.

APPROVE 2022-2023 SCHOOL CALENDAR

Jon Michael Deisher moved to adopt the 2022-2023 School Calendar as presented. Upon said motion being seconded by Beth Etzkorn, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.

APPROVAL TO RELEASE CLOSED SESSION VERBATIM MINUTES

Richard Gochenour moved to not release the closed session verbatim minutes of September 22, 2021; October 20, 2021; December 15, 2021; January 11, 2022; January 19, 2022; February 16, 2022. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Beth Etzkorn moved to roll over all previously tenured teachers listed: Mrs. Diana Morgan, Mr. Nick Waldroup, Mrs. Darlene Smith, Mrs. Brittany Weiss, Mrs. Dena Tarpley, for the 2022-2023 school year. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Upon said motion being seconded by Beth Etzkorn, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Jon Michael Deisher made the motion to adjourn the Wednesday, March 16, 2022, Allendale Community Consolidated School District #17 Board of Education meeting at 7:47 PM. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.
