Wabash Community Unit Schools 348 Board of Education met March 21.

The Board of Education of Wabash Community Unit School District #348, Wabash County, met in Regular Session in the Cafetorium of Mt. Carmel Grade School.
President Tim Schuler called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Secretary Janice Alka called the roll. In addition to the secretary, those present were Tim Schuler, Neil Earnest, Kyle Peach, Theresa Hocking, Ryan Peter, and Susan Wood.
Also present were Superintendent Dr. Chuck Bleyer, MCJSH Principal Andrew Shelby, MCGS Principal Brianne Foster, MCES Principal Jake Newkirk, MCJSH COO Steve Holt, Kevin Madden –WSJD, Cynthia Given, Nathan Wheatley, Dawn Drone –WCEA, Herb Meeker –Hometown Register, Levi Johnson and District Secretary Kim Zimmer.
President Schuler led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

A motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Wood and seconded by Peach. A roll call vote was taken and all present voted AYE. Motion Carried.
Dr. Bleyer noted that the renovations and construction projects for the roof at Mt. Carmel Grade School were progressing very well.
Public Comment
There were no public comments.
Closed Session
President Schuler asked if anyone on the Board had a reason to go into closed session. There was no closed session.
New Business
2022-2023 School Calendar
Dr. Bleyer briefly reviewed the proposed school calendar to the Board. A motion to approve the calendar was made by Alka and seconded by Hocking. A roll call vote was taken and all present voted AYE. Motion Carried.
Last Day for Seniors
Dr. Bleyer told the Board that May 6, 2022 was the last day for seniors and graduation will be May 14, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
Set Administrative Salaries for 2022-2023
A motion to approve the 2022-2023 administrative salaries as presented to the Board was made by Peach and seconded by Earnest. A roll call vote was taken and all present voted AYE. Motion Carried.
Employment of Personnel
A motion to approve the following employment recommendations was made by Hocking and seconded by Alka.

Susie Wood requested that a Moment of Silence be placed on the agenda after the Pledge of Allegiance. President Schuler asked the remainder of the board to let him know if they were in favor of her suggestion. He told Wood that he would let her know prior to the April board meeting of the board’s decision.
