The White County Republicans invited Senator Terri Bryant to its Lincoln Day Dinner in midst of the primary elections.
“Fantastic crowd at the Lincoln Day Dinner in Carmi last evening,” Bryant wrote on Facebook. “Big crowd joining great candidates, all discussing the upcoming Illinois Primary Election.”
Ballotpedia wrote election day for the Illinois primaries is June 28.
WRUL reported the event including a social hour, dinner and the candidate forum. The following candidates were expected to participate:
Gubernatorial candidates: Paul Schimpf (in person), Richard Irvin (representative), Darren Bailey (representative) and Gary Rabine (representative).
Illinois State Representative: Avery Bourne (in person).
US Representative: Mike Bost (representative).
Illinois Senator: Terri Bryant (in person).
Illinois State Representative: Dave Severin (in person), Gary Carter (in person).
Illinois State Representative: Patrick Windhorst (in person), Ron Ellis (in person).
Illinois Appellate Court – 5th District: Barry Vaughan (in person), Mike McHaney (in person).
Bryant has voiced her stance on being anti-mask.
“Why would you make a kid in a school on a playground wear a mask and then they’re not having to wear it when they go to Walmart?” she said on WSILTV. “They shouldn’t have to be wearing them at all.”
The Villagers Voice reported that tickets for the White County Republican Lincoln Day Candidate Forum sold for $15 or $90 for a table for six.
Bryant and several other Illinois Republicans want to pass Illinois’ Parental Notice of Abortion Act.
“The Majority Party wants to punish good, supportive parents who want nothing more than to be there for their young daughter during the hardest time of her life, all under the ‘guise’ of protecting the abused,” Bryant said on Senator Sue Rezin’s website. “There are avenues for young women to pursue if they feel unsafe with having a parent informed of their decision. Any attempt to repeal parental notification is a direct attack on parental rights. Being a mother and a grandmother, I refuse to allow Democrat lawmakers to tie the hands of parents, allowing children to undergo a serious medical procedure without the guidance and support of a parent.”
Last month, Bryant attended the ribbon cutting for the Franklin County Courthouse, which she called a “once in a lifetime event.”
