Village of Smithton Committee as a Whole met May 31.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Mayor Smallwood called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm at Village Hall. Trustees Becherer, Elbe, Henning, and Hopkins were in attendance. Trustees Rogers and Mourey were absent.
HY-DAC PROPERTY – The Board reviewed pictures of the Hy-Dac property from 2013 when the property was cleaned up. It was noted that the Ordinance states for Industrial Zoning that outdoor storage should be concealed by a fence at least six (6) feet in height. It was agreed that action needs to be taken regarding the state of this property. Mayor Smallwood will direct Engineer Saeger to draft a letter to send to the owners of Hy-Dac to address these issues.
INDUSTRIAL ZONING – The Board discussed whether any changes are needed in the Ordinance Book for Industrial Zoning and it was determined that no changes are needed at this time.
POLICE EQUIPMENT – The Police Department will be purchasing 8 Staccato pistols for all full-time police officers. Currently officers have their own personal pistols. Checking on insurance coverage is needed. This will be presented at the next regular board meeting for a vote.
LIQUOR LICENSES – New language for the Class C restaurant liquor license and a new Class E license was presented and discussed.
Trustee Becherer made a motion which was seconded by Trustee Elbe to adjourn. All were in favor. Motion was granted. Meeting adjourned at 8:55 pm.
