In a Jul. 5 Facebook post, Rep. Adam Niemerg cheered his supporters who came to the Dieterich Fourth of July parade.
"Great turnout yesterday for the Dieterich 4th of July Parade thank you to everyone who walked with us! A special thank you to the many others that supported us at other parades going on this weekend too, Lawrenceville, Casey, and many others. God Bless the State of Illinois & God Bless America!!" said Niemerg.
In the past few months, Niemerg has raised his voice, calling on lawmakers to return to session to repeal the Green New Deal. Niemerg questioned the integrity of the Illinois power grid and whether or not it will be able to handle a surge in demand over the summer. Niemerg called for his colleagues to return to Springfield to deal with questions about the state's energy supply in a Facebook post on Thursday. "We need to get back to Springfield," he told The Center Square. "We need to repeal the Green New Deal. We need to bring Ameren [an energy supplier] to the table, and actually have a productive energy policy moving forward."
He also blamed Democrats and Gov. J.B. Pritzker for the effects of inflation, and for doing nothing about it. "People, the moms and dads trying to get their kids back and forth from soccer to baseball practice, to school this fall are paying the price," Niemerg said. "We’re paying the price at the gas pump, at the grocery store. Inflation is out of control and the Democrats and the governor have done nothing.”
He also spoke out about a disaster proclamation issued by Gov. J.B. Pritzker. In a June 4 Facebook post, Niemerg (R-Teutopolis) railed against Gov. J. B. Pritzker's recent disaster proclamation. "Power and Control……. don't think for a second the mandates would not be in place had you not pushed back. The continued executive orders are all a setup to bring backmasking and mandates if and when the Governor wants……," Niemerg posted.
