Jasper Community Consolidated School District #17 Board of Education met Aug. 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the Jasper School Board of Education was called to order by Board President Derek Demaret and Beth Titzer taking the minutes, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with following board members present:

Present at the hearing: Derek Demaret, Lance Hinkle, Andrew Weaver, Jon Lafikes, Beth Titzer & Josh Zurliene

Absent at the hearing:

The consent agenda, which includes minutes of previous regular board meeting, executive session and destruction of closed session minutes, treasurer’s report, approval of monthly bills and payroll, resignation of Crystal Wheeler as an aide, and approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement for Speech Pathology Services, were then approved on a motion by Lance Hinkle and seconded by Jon Lafikes. The votes were as follows:

Andrew Weaver –yes   Beth Titzer – yes

A motion was made by Beth Titzer and seconded by Jon Lafikes to appoint Caitlin Glisson to fill the Jasper CCSD #17 board vacancy until the next election cycle occurs. The votes were as follows:

Lance Hinkle –yes        Jon Lafikes –yes

Andrew Weaver –yes   Beth Titzer – yes

A motion was made by Beth Titzer and seconded by Lance Hinkle to approve second reading of Press Policies. The votes were as follows:

Andrew Weaver –yes   Beth Titzer – yes

A motion was made by Lance Hinkle and seconded by Josh Zurliene to purchase Well-Being Weekly funded by the 2022-2023 Social emotional Grant Program for a total cost of $765.77. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Lance Hinkle and seconded by Beth Titzer to approve the Energy Savings Company Proposal by GRP Wegman. The votes were as follows:

A motion was made by Jon Lafikes and seconded by Beth Titzer to approve adjourning at 7:25 p.m. The votes were as follows:
