Members of the Illinois State Legislature recently celebrated Veterans Day, including state Rep. Dave Severin (R-Marion) and Sen. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro), who both took to Facebook to recognize those who have served our country in the military.
“Senator Terri Bryant and I enjoyed a trip to Mt. Carmel tonight to meet with Mayor Joe Judge and Canadian Consulate General Aaron Anable for a Consulate's Recognition Dinner honoring the dignitary for coming to Mt. Carmel to lay a wreath at a cemetery of an American soldier who fought alongside Canadian soldiers. We HONOR veterans,” Severin said in a Facebook post on Nov. 11.
Also on Veterans Day, Bryant and Severin were involved in the Waltonville Veterans Day events.
Severin said on Facebook, “Thank you Waltonville for hosting myself and Senator Terri Bryant and many others for today’s #VeteransDay parade and appreciation ceremony. Great patriotism on display in honor of America’s service men and women.”
On Nov. 10, Severin shared that he was at the monthly food distribution in Sesser.
“Monthly food distribution in Sesser was a success. Great volunteerism on display by students from Sesser-Valier High School," Severin wrote in a Facebook post.
Severin has represented the 117th House District since January 2017, and recently ran uncontested to represent the newly redrawn 116th House District.
