Public Hearing on Budget was called to order at 6:01p.m. by Stephanie Hatcher.

Mr. Fetcho: Bids are due October 5 for the pavement project. A Public Notice for bids was given to the Wayne County Press. Projected date for the pavement project will be based on the contractor schedule and weather conditions. The Solar Project is progressing. Fetcho and

Johnson have met with AGE to validate potential locations for the solar panels. The Early Childhood Grant was submitted and we will know in November if we are awarded with the $10 million grant.

Mr. Johnson: Amidst of the HSVB season, student attraction is back along with Themed Nights at the home games. Mr. Johnson invited the board to attend as well. An AG Report was given to the board as well. The FFA recently had a Raffle that was a great success. FFA shirts are on sale and October 1st they will be hosting a Fall Market from 9-12p here on the HS parking lot. The

HS band performed in the Grayville Days Parade. Mrs. Cline is heading up a Service Learning Class during the JH pe class. Between 6-8 students go into other classrooms to help. It's been a great experience for the students and they have been enjoying it. Mr. Johnson is working alongside Andi Ford to create a Mike Garbo Plaque. The plan is to present it at the HSBK home game on December 9. Stephanie Hatcher will present the plaque. Three 75” monitors will be installed soon for the IECC synchronized classroom program. September 23 will be the Herd’s Family Movie Night and then next meetingThe NHS will be helping with a Community Blood Drive on October 5 from 1-6p at the First Christian Church. Our school is partnering with Mt. Carmel High School with a Pink Out game. The Student Council is seeking sponsors. Proceeds from the game and sponsorships will help purchase items for bags for patients at the Oncology Department at WGH as well as donated to local families affected by cancer.

Mrs. Harrelson: 90% of renovations are complete. Thresholds leading into the High School bathrooms need to be installed. Hinges are being made for the bleachers. The area around the HVAC units will be spruced up as well according to the contractors. We received donations from Fairfield National Bank for our student activities and for the FFA program. We will be applying for the FY23 School Maintenance Project Grant. The deadline to submit the application is November 14, 2022. The district paid an extra Egyptian Trust payment. Later on the agenda there will be a motion to withdraw from the Trust to avoid further payments to the trust and find more affordable insurance for the certified staff. Kathy Bishop, High Impact Tutoring coordinator said the tutoring program is up and running for the elementary school through junior high. Letters are being sent home to qualifying students for the program. The high school students will continue to meet with teachers for tutoring services on Tuesday and Thursdays and the cost will be covered under Covid tutoring funds. School Board Petitions are available at the courthouses for anyone interested. Three board seats will be available starting July 1, 2023.
