The Board of Education of Wabash Community Unit School District #348, Wabash County, met in Regular Session in the Library of Mt. Carmel Grade School.
President Tim Schuler called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Secretary Janice Alka called the roll. In addition to the secretary, those present were Tim Schuler, Kyle Peach, Susan Wood, and Theresa Hocking. Ryan Peter and Neil Earnest were absent.
Also present were Superintendent Dr. Chuck Bleyer, MCJSH Principal Andrew Shelby, MCGS Principal Brianne Foster, MCES Principal –Jake Newkirk, MCJSH COO Steve Holt, Kim Mandrell and Senior Band Students, Syreeta Willis and Senior Volleyball Athletes, Kevin Madden –WSJD, Herb Meeker –Hometown Register, Tracee Bleyer –Parent, Jamie McCorkle –Parent, and District Secretary Kim Zimmer.
President Schuler led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

A motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Wood and seconded by Hocking. A roll call vote was taken and all present voted AYE. Motion Carried. Peter and Earnest were absent.
Visitors
Kim Mandrell and Senior Band Students
Mandrell introduced her students and gave an overview of the season as well as their accomplishments and awards. Each student talked about their experiences during their past four years in high school.
Coach Syreeta Willis and Senior Volleyball Athletes
Willis recapped this past season and asked the girls to talk about their experiences.
Public Comments
There were no public comments.
Superintendent’s Comments
Dr. Bleyer gave an update on the progress of Phase II of the Athletic Complex.
Executive Session pursuant to Section 2 (C)(1) of the Open Meetings Act: “The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees”.
At 7:24 p.m. a motion to go into closed session was made by Peach and seconded by Hocking. All present voted Aye. Motion Carried. Peter and Earnest were absent.
At 7: 50 p.m. a motion to return to open session was made by Hocking and seconded by Peach. Motion Carried. Peter and Earnest were absent.
A motion to approve the minutes as read in closed session was made by Peach and seconded by Alka. All present voted Aye. Motion Carried. Peter and Earnest were absent.
New Business
Tax Levy Payable in 2023
A motion to display the Tax Levy Payable in 2023 was made by Hocking and seconded by Wood. All present voted Aye. Motion Carried. Peter and Earnest were absent.
FY23 School Maintenance Grant
A motion to approve the FY23 School Maintenance Grant was made by Wood and seconded by Peach. All present voted Aye. Motion Carried. Peter and Earnest were absent.
Resolution declaring the intention to issue $2,200,000 Working Cash Fund Bonds of the District for the purpose of increasing the Working Cash Fund of the District, and directing that notice of such intention be published in the manner provided by law.
A motion to approve the resolution was made by Wood and seconded by Peach. All present voted Aye. Motion Carried. Peter and Earnest were absent.
Employment of Personnel
A motion to approve the following employment recommendations was made by Hocking and seconded by Wood:

A motion to adjourn was made by Alka and seconded by Hocking. All present voted aye. Motion Carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
