Village of Smithton Village Board met Jan. 10.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
Mayor Smallwood called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm at Village Hall. Trustees Becherer, Rogers, Elbe, Mourey, and Hopkins were in attendance. Trustee Hildreth was in attendance via conference call.
WATER TOWER RESTORATION PLAN – The Board discussed revisions to a proposed contract with a potential contractor. Requiring bid bonds in the future was mentioned.
NORCOM 2000 –Norcom 2000 has been sold to Wisper. More information is needed from both companies on plans moving forward.
POCKET PARK – We received cost estimates for playground equipment, tables and pavilion.
BUDGET – All departments are working on their budgets.
CDs – There are 6 CDs maturing in January. Discussion was had about current best rates from local banks.
FULFORD ANNEXATION – Discussion was had regarding a proposed Annexation Agreement we received from John Fulford. Past agreements with him and other developers was discussed.
2022 YEAR END RECAP – Mayor Smallwood wanted to focus on some unfinished items for 2022.
Those items are Street Department uniforms and the Village Hall Generator. He also mentioned extending the employee compensation package for one year so that it will be up for renewal at the same time as the Police FOP contract.
Trustee Rogers made a motion which was seconded by Trustee Elbe to adjourn. All were in favor. Motion was granted. Meeting adjourned at 8:49 pm.
