City of Carmi City Council met March 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The Carmi City Council met Monday, March 13 2023, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Room of the Municipal Building, 225 East Main Street for a Special Meeting due to needing IEPA funding, offering up 50% forgiveness on their portion, which is first come, first serve.

Prior to opening the council meeting, Mayor Pollard asked Alderman Winkleman to give the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Pollard presided with the following Aldermen present: Steve Winkleman, Mark W. Blake, Tracy Nelson, James Totten, Jeremy Courson, Mike Knight, Sheila Headlee and Doug Hays.

For council consideration, discussion, and possible approval

a) Review of bids and Notice of Intent to Award for the Water System Improvements – 2020 DCEO PI Portion to low bidder, Wiggs Excavating, Inc. Alderman Hays made a motion to award the Water Systems Improvements – 2020 DCEO PI Portion to Wiggs Excavating, Inc. The motion was seconded by Alderman Blake. The motion carried on roll call by each Alderman present answering “yes.”

b) Review of bids and Notice of Intent to Award for the Water System Improvements – 2020 IEPA Portion to lower bidder, Kieffer Brothers Construction, Inc. Alderman Totten made a motion to award the Water System Improvements – 2020 IEPA Portion to Kieffer Brothers Construction, Inc. Alderman Courson seconded the motion. The motion carried on roll call by each Alderman present answering “yes.”

Adjournment

At 5:38 p.m., Alderman Headlee made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Alderman Courson. The motion carried on roll call by each Alderman present answering “yes.”
