Darren Bailey is seeking to put an end to corrupt insider politics in Washington, D.C.

Bailey, a former state senator 2022 GOP gubernatorial candidate, is running for Illinois' 12th Congressional District.

“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The era of slick politicians selling out hardworking Americans in Washington is OVER. We, the people, are rising up to reclaim our nation! Southern Illinois, I stand with you, ready to FIGHT for our hardworking families,” Bailey said on Facebook. “Our values will NOT be compromised any longer. No more silence while extreme liberals or establishment Republicans betray us. No more putting the needs of special interests ahead of the American people. No more selling out our freedoms and compromising the next generation by kicking the can down the road. We are BOLDLY taking back our country!”

Bailey’s comments come as revelations of the Biden family business, an alleged influence operation potentially yielding hundreds of millions in earnings, helmed by Hunter Biden, continue to leak out. The close connections between President Biden and China in specific have drawn attention, and Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer has shed light on this matter in his book "Red Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win.” The book outlines the intricate pathways through which the Bidens allegedly received payments of $31 million from Chinese intelligence.

"I think there's no question. We spent more than a year investigating ‘Red Handed,' and one of the most startling things we uncovered is the simple fact that the Biden family, while he was vice president of the United States and continuing when he became president, received some $31 million from Chinese individuals who are linked to the highest levels of Chinese intelligence," Schweizer claimed, according to Fox News.

More recently a WhatsApp message from Hunter Biden pressuring a Chinese official to pay him millions of dollars was uncovered and runs counter to President Joe Biden’s comments noting he had an arm’s length relationship with his son’s business.

"I  am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled," Hunter Biden wrote according to Daily Mail. "Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father."

Likewise, there is a call for an investigation into the $54.6 million in anonymous donations that China contributed to the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement. U.S. Attorney David Weiss has been formally requested to look into these donations.

“The flurry of donations may be related to first son Hunter Biden’s business interests in China, the National Legal and Policy Center, a Virginia-based watchdog, alleged in complaints sent in May and October 2020 to the Departments of Education and Justice," the New York Post reported.

Illinois' 12th Congressional District comprises the entirety of Southern Illinois, including Monroe, Randolph, Clinton, Perry, Jackson, Union, Alexander, Pulaski, Massac, Johnson, Williamson, Jefferson, Marion, Clay, Effingham, Wayne, Hamilton, Saline, Pope, Hardin, Gallatin, White, Edwards, Wabash, Richland, Lawrence, Jasper, Crawford, Cumberland, and Clark Counties. It also includes most of St. Clair County and half of Coles County.
