City of Harrisburg City Council met Aug. 31.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The Harrisburg City Council met on August 31, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall located at 110 Locust Street, Harrisburg, IL.

Mayor John McPeek called the meeting to order. Mayor John McPeek presided over the meeting with Commissioners Raymond Gunning, Roger Angelly, Rupert Johnson and Cynthia Potter answering roll call.

Citizen Wes Pickering talked to council about his hardships in life. He also discussed a fire he had on his property. Mayor John McPeek suggested he request to be added to the next agenda under citizen comments.

Mayor John McPeek made the motion to go into executive session to discuss Local Union #2254 International Association of Fire Fighters AFL-CIO Mediation. Seconded by Commissioner Raymond Gunning. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Adjourn: 9:06 a.m.

Reconvene: 12:54 p.m.

Mayor John McPeek made the motion to return to open session. Seconded by Commissioner Raymond Gunning. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Mayor John McPeek stated there was nothing to act upon regarding the Fire Fighter mediation.

Commissioner Roger Angelly made the motion to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Raymond Gunning. A roll call vote was taken with all present voting yes. Motion carried.

Adjourn: 12:55 p.m.
