The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in special session on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. Vice-President Beth Etzkorn called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
The following members were present: Ryan Andrews
Beth Etzkorn
Richard Gochenour
Eric Haines
Miles Marcotte
Tia Morgan
Gary Buchanan was absent. Also present was Supt./Principal Bob Bowser.
GO TO CLOSED SESSION
Tia Morgan moved to adjourn to Closed Session at 6:01 PM - Reason - List Number(s) #1 - Appointments, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, the President put the question, and the roll being called, the following members voted:

EMPLOYMENT - OLIVIA ALKA (CHEER COACH)
Tia Morgan made the motion to hire Olivia Alka as Cheer Coach for the 2023-2024 season. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, the Vice-President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

EMPLOYMENT - DARLENE SMITH (PART-TIME DEAN OF STUDENTS)
Richard Gochenour made the motion to hire Darlene Smith as a Part-time Dean of Students for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. This position will not work more than 120 days to comply with law and TRS regulations. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, the Vice-President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Richard Gochenour made the motion to adjourn the Tuesday, October 3, 2023, Allendale Community Consolidated School District #17 Board of Education meeting at 7:28 P.M. Upon being seconded by Tia Morgan, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.
