Darren Bailey, a candidate for the 12th Congressional District of Illinois, recently engaged his followers in a discussion about the current global challenges and potential strategies for navigating the uncertainties of 2024. In a social media post, Bailey posed a thought-provoking question to his followers.
"How are you managing today, and how will you navigate 2024?" Bailey asked on Facebook.
Bailey supplemented his question with a video where he delved into the complexities that Illinois might face as it moves towards the 2024 election year.
“In these trying times of this world, it can be pretty frustrating and pretty overwhelming,” Bailey said.
“And I hear from a lot of people who are frustrated and who are overwhelmed, whether it’s financially, emotionally, physically, just needs. And then unfortunately it doesn’t appear that it’s going to get any easier in 2024. And I’m, just you know, Cindy and I are honored to serve in a capacity of government – not that government is the answer. There’s no doubt that government and failed leaders have certainly made this situation more burdensome. But at the end of the day, we’ve got a lot to be thankful for as Americans. But we’ve also got a lot to be aware of as we navigate these waters into 2024.”
“And all of that – just that concern and frustration and just the things that we really don’t have control of.”
Bailey has strong ties to southern Illinois. A former state senator and the GOP candidate for 2022, he spent his formative years on the Bailey Family Farm. Currently co-managing the farm with his sons under their management businesses such as Bailey Family Grain, Bailey Family Freight, and BNB Excavating thrive - an indication of their commitment to establishing a lasting legacy and realizing their daily farming aspirations according to their website.
The 12th Congressional District of Illinois includes Monroe, Randolph, Clinton, Perry, Jackson, Union, Alexander, Pulaski, Massac, Johnson, Williamson, Jefferson, Marion, Clay, Effingham, Wayne, Hamilton, Saline, Pope, Hardin, Gallatin, White, Edwards, Wabash, Richland, Lawrence, Jasper, Crawford, Cumberland and Clark Counties, as well as most of St. Clair County and half of Coles County.
