State Senator Dale Fowler is once again calling on the community to participate in his annual Valentines for Seniors Card Drive. The initiative aims to bring joy to senior citizens in the 59th District by delivering homemade cards to nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, and other long-term care facilities.

Speaking about the program, Senator Fowler expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support received from the community. He stated, "Every year the community comes together to show their love and respect for our seniors, and it’s incredibly humbling knowing we have so much constituent support for this program."

Senator Fowler's office has set up a drop-off location at 2 North Vine, 6th Floor, Harrisburg, IL 62946. Individuals and groups, including students, scout groups, churches, and families, are encouraged to create their own heartfelt cards and drop them off at the designated location. The cards will then be hand-delivered by Senator Fowler himself to senior facilities across the district.

Cards can be dropped off at the district office until February 5th during normal business hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. After-hour drop-offs can be made using a small mailbox located outside the office.

Highlighting the success of last year's drive, Senator Fowler mentioned that the Senate Republican Caucus collected and delivered over 45,000 Valentines in 2023. This impressive number reflects the community's dedication to bringing happiness to seniors during the Valentine's season.
