Darren Bailey, a candidate for the 12th Congressional District, is preparing to engage with voters in an unconventional setting. On Jan. 30, from 5 to 7 p.m., Bailey will host a "Meet & Greet" event at Hank’s Bowl, a distinguished establishment located at 29 W Illinois St. in Trenton.
According to Hank's Bowl Facebook page, "Since 1967, Hank’s has been Trenton’s go-to lounge for bowling, drinks, food, and good times."
The venue will serve as the backdrop for the event, offering a casual environment for residents to converse with the congressional candidate. The "Meet & Greet with Darren Bailey" presents an opportunity for Clinton County voters to engage directly with Bailey, discuss their concerns and gain insight into his vision for the district. The aim of this event is to encourage community participation and enable voters to make informed decisions about who they believe can best represent their interests in Congress.
Bailey, formerly a state senator and 2022 GOP gubernatorial candidate, has deep roots in southern Illinois where he spent his formative years on the Bailey Family Farm. He currently co-manages this farm alongside his sons. Under their management, Bailey Family Grain, Bailey Family Freight, and BNB Excavating have flourished. This success underscores their commitment to building a lasting legacy and realizing their farming aspirations as mentioned on their website.
The 12th Congressional District of Illinois encompasses Monroe, Randolph, Clinton, Perry, Jackson, Union, Alexander, Pulaski, and Massac among others. It also includes most of St. Clair County and half of Coles County. The district's current representative is U.S. Congressman Mike Bost (R-Ill.). According to GovTrack, he has held this position since 2015.
