Allendale Community Consolidated School District 17 Board of Education met Dec. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:03 PM.

The following members were present:

Also present was Supt./Principal Bob Bowser, Administrative Assistant Sarah Courter, Debbie Hipsher, District Treasurer.

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA

Tia Morgan made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, November 15, 2023; Closed Meeting held Wednesday, November 15, 2023; Financial Reports – Treasurer’s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills Exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by Eric Haines, President Gary Buchanan put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

ADMINISTRATION –

Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial Update - 1% Sales Tax $6,537.12 payable in January for September 2023; Expenditures for the month in the Education $139,657, Building $6,317, & Transportation $6,481 Funds with the 3-Fund Total of $152,455; Facility Update - Oven element burnt in two/got new thermostat - still not working so calling Jarvis; we will receive a donation to the School to replace all pickleball court lights as well as add two more lights to shine towards the playground; Floor Scrubber and T360 Sanitizer parts ordered; Transportation - Bus 3 - repaired and returned to school (under warranty); all 4 buses had oil changes; Sports - January 8th is BBB 8th grade night; Cheer Competition on December 3 (awaiting results); GBB Regional at Allendale on January 9, 10, and 12; Other - Bowser resigned as SIJHSAA Board and is not the Conference President; BBB player suspension over; 3rd and 4th grades took supplies to the Wabash Co. Animal Shelter in place of a Christmas gift exchange; Student Council filled 33 fruit/gift bags for the Christmas Ruritan Bags for Shut-ins; the BOE catered a Christmas meal from The Smokin’ Pig for staff; Several organizations bought many of our students/families Christmas gifts.

ADOPTION OF 2023 PAY 2024 TAX LEVY

Tia Morgan made the motion to approve the 2023 Pay 2024 Tax Levy as presented and file the Certificate of Tax Levy with the County Clerks of Wabash and Lawrence Counties. Upon said motion being seconded by Beth Etzkorn, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Tia Morgan moved to transfer Talley Wyatt from her current position as Title 1 Paraprofessional to Head Cook, effective January 2, 2024. Upon said motion being seconded by Ryan Andrews, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

Eric Haines made the motion to adjourn the Wednesday, December 20, 2023, Allendale Community Consolidated School District #17 Board of Education meeting at 7:10 PM. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.
