Allendale Community Consolidated School District 17 Board of Education met Jan. 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:03 PM.

The following members were present:

Also present was Supt./Principal Bob Bowser, Administrative Assistant Sarah Courter, Debbie Hipsher, District Treasurer. Beth Etzkorn entered at 6:05 PM.

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA

Richard Gochenour made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, December 20, 2023; Closed Meeting held Wednesday, December 20, 2023; Financial Reports – Treasurer’s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills Exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, President Gary Buchanan put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

STAFF – None

ADMINISTRATION – Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial Update - 1% Sales Tax $6919.13 payable in February for October 2023; Expenditures for the month in the Education $148,502, Building $6,945, & Transportation $5,714, Funds with the 3-Fund Total of $161,161; Facility Update - Heat not working correctly in gym, Max Air Solutions came to check the HVAC in the hallways - thermostats needed adjusted, waiting on more parts for the Special Education and 3rd grade classroom HVAC systems, the wrong element was order for the kitchen oven - the correct one is now installed and oven is working, new pickleball/playground lights going up soon; Transportation - None; Sports - Allendale School hosted Girls Basketball Regional (New Hope won), Boys Basketball Regional will be next week at West Salem, Volleyball practice has started for the co-op (Allendale has 9 girls playing); Other - Kempers will be here at the February board meeting to update us on the audit, ROE Supt. Beth Rister will be at the February board meeting for a public hearing on Summer School meals.

SUPERINTENDENT EVALUATION

Richard Gochenour made the motion to approve the Superintendent evaluation as presented. Upon said motion being seconded by Beth Etzkorn, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.

APPROVAL OF CERTIFIED SENIORITY LIST FOR 2023-2024

Tia Morgan moved to approve the Certified Seniority List for 2023-2024 as presented. Upon said motion being seconded by Richard Gochenour, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.

RESOLUTION - TAX LEVY ABATEMENT

Tia Morgan made the motion to approve the resolution for the tax levy abatement. Upon said motion being seconded by Richard Gochenour, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:
