SPRINGFIELD – State Representative Patrick Windhorst recently extended recognition to the organizers and participants of the Miss Illinois Heart Pageant Organization in a tribute to influential women in Illinois during Women’s History Month. Among those acknowledged was Alex Austin, who, as Rep. Windhorst highlighted, "has worked to raise $85,000 to donate to the Illinois Heart Association since 2020."
In addition to commending Austin's philanthropic efforts, Rep. Windhorst collaborated with her on legislative endeavors, notably playing a role in the passing of House Resolution 126 in the 102nd General Assembly. This resolution, as stated by Rep. Windhorst, "designates February as Illinois Heart Month."
During a recent session at the Illinois House of Representatives, Rep. Windhorst introduced a cohort of individuals associated with the Miss Illinois Heart Pageant Organization. The group included Miss Illinois Heart Hannah Stillman, Miss Teen Illinois Heart Ella Horn, Miss Illinois Heart Junior Teen Dariyn Carney, Miss Illinois Heart Pre-Teen Morgan Potts, Miss Illinois Heart Princess Bailey Johnson, and Miss Illinois Heart Junior Princess Mia Davis. This recognition ceremony showcased the diverse talents and contributions of these individuals within the community.
